New Year Baby

We wanted to make something special for this coming year, so we decided to dress Joel like a New Year baby WELCOMING 2011, even though he may try to destroy them when he is older, but we think he looks really cute.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

Joel's frist hair cut

Joel didn't have a lot of hair, but he had some clumps that were getting kind of long.  So we trimmed it up a little on the top and on the sides while he was in the tub.  He didn't seem to mind.  His hair looks a little more even now, and should be filling in more evenly for the next time we trim it up.

Joel's first Christmas

Joel thoroughly enjoyed his first Christmas.  The weather was beautiful, we had gifts to share, and we spent time with family.  We were blessed to have Joel's grandmother visiting with us as well.

Christmas Eve

We went to a Christmas party with some other families with kids.  They had great food in a lovely home environment, and ended the night with the children acting out the nativity.  Joel was excited to see other kids - he is so happy around little ones.  We all had a wonderful time!

Christmas crafts

We decided to make some kind of crafts as a family before Christmas to spend some time together and having a little bit of fun trying to develop our hidden talents, it was simple but we wanted to start with something.

Here are some of our magnets finished. Now every Sunday at Church, I'm working in the nursery.  Joel "made" the stable in nursery on his first time there (and it was his first craft), he loves to see all the little children there, but for his safety I won't take him again (there are some with a cold and running nose)

Tom and I were invited to gather with other young couples from Church who have children, to get to know each other more and decorate cookies.  This was my first time decorating sugar cookies and I think it's a good tradition we can start in our home.
It was fun, we had a great time!!  While at the party, we saw an event calendar, which we sort of tried to copy.  We got some craft supplies from Michaels, which is just around the corner from us, and are still finishing it up.  This is what we have so far!

At the park

What a beautiful day! We decided to go for a walk to the park (so far we have seen only one park). Joel enjoyed it a lot, he likes to be outside, he behaves very well when we take him out, likes to see people (especially when they get to talk to him and tell him compliments) and things in movement =D

Letter to Santa??

Here we have our little Joel thinking what to ask Santa for Christmas....

Bonsai tree

A block away from our apartment on the main street there was a Japanese man selling Bonsai trees, we were kind of surprised but maybe here in Yuma everything is possible. Tom looked at them and talked with that man about them, and as soon as we could, we went back to pick out a little one for us. So here it is.  We will be passing it on to our future generations as our inheritance, Joel you will be next in charge!!!
