Mesa Easter Pageant

We went to the Pageant titled "Jesus the Christ" at the temple grounds.  It was beautiful!  The show is free, and all the actors are volunteers, but the production is very high quality.  We were at a Spanish session, and the actors all mouthed their lines in Spanish, although the sound was pre-recorded.  A few people who didn't speak Spanish were able to get headphones for translation.  They all must learn their lines in Spanish and English.  There were a couple of songs where hundreds of people all mouthed the words in Spanish as well - it was impressive, and we all felt a beautiful spirit as it told the story of Christ's ministry on Earth.

South Mountain Park

Yesterday we decided to have a different Saturday, so we had a little adventure going to South Mountain Park, it was beautiful to enjoy Arizona's nature, seeing some people hiking and some others riding bikes in those little roads as we went up the mountain, where we could see the entire valley, it was fun and refreshing because it's getting really hot lately.

Preparedness Fair

First aid kit

Here we have the dehydration, little stove and solar oven

Getting more familiar with the packing process, we have some boxes in our storage but haven't been able to do it by ourselves, so we had a great opportunity to learn, very easy!!!

We thought only cactus could grow here, but we were wrong, we were amazed in the gardening station, when we discovered how many different things we can grow in Arizona, unbelievable!

Different kinds of canning

One of the teachers from seminary was assigned to one of the stations, so she gave us a loaf of homemade white wheat bread. She showed how to make one to all of the visitors. The other station was showing the mills (electric & manual) and ideas of different things you can cook-bake using wheat as well.

72 hours kit

Today we started our day early, @ 8am we went to a Road show practice with the youth from our ward, we got very excited because they are doing pretty good! They are performing Mulan next week, so these were some of their last final practices @ the stage.

Then after that, we went to a Church "Preparedness Fair", what a great reminder of things we should be doing, at least we have some of them already!!! There were different stations where we could stop and ask about each one of them (we just got some pictures to some of them), information was available for us to bring and read so we can get started, but I think we were the ones that stayed the longest, we got there around 9.30 and left after 11.30, we enjoy it a lot!!

Lovely gift

A friend of ours got our baby a present from one of those coin-operated machines that you control the claw that drops down and picks up toys. She has actually won toys 3 times, which is impressive since no one ever wins those things, right?
We were so grateful to get this, our baby boy is going to love it!

Ultrasound #3

Today we found out that our baby will be a boy. We are equally excited as we would have been if it were a girl :) Ana's mom was even more pleased because she had knit a sweater with the buttons on the right side (as in men's clothing) and it will look more proper on a baby boy than a baby girl.
We are now thinking about names... Please let us know what you think about the following, or if you have some other ideas.
Poseidon
Megatron
Argus
Neptune
Aristotle
Jupiter
Orion (or O'Ryan)
Max Powers
Murdock
Also, any other advice about getting ready for our baby boy is appreciated!

Mariners preseason game!

Beautiful day! 67 degrees, clear skies. Great weather for shorts and flip-flops.

Today we went to a baseball game, where the Mariners (Seattle) played vs the Giants (San Francisco) in the first pre-season game. It's part of the Cactus League - half of the major league teams play preseason games in the Phoenix area. And the Mariners play about 5 miles from where we live. So we were excited to check it out. It was quite different from the normal season. The stadium is much smaller, and it is shared as the home field of the Mariners and the San Diego Padres. But we saw Griffey and Ichiro, got lots of sun, and had a great time!

15 weeks belly

Just want to share some pictures of how we are growing!! This is the baby & me, looking at 14 weeks, hopefully in 2 more weeks, if the baby cooperates, we will find out if we'll have a girl or a boy.
