Joel riding again with Daddy

This is Joel's favorites ride, whenever daddy is around he likes to be taken on his shoulders and have a great time up there, even when he's not happy at all, when he is taken up, he always has a big smile!

A day after Joel had his five month mark (January 16th), he sat up for first time, it definitely was a new and different experience for him, but he loved it.

On the other hand, after waiting over a month to have our appointment with the Pediatric we had it on the 20th and when the Dr saw him sitting on my lap, she cheered him and told us that he was ready for his solids. He was smiling and happy when the Dr was doing the check up, but as soon as he got his shots he wasn't that happy for a little while (it wasn't fun for him at all) .

We were excited to find out that he weights 21.4 pounds and his height is 28.5 inches, a big boy for his age but who is healthy and happy.

First College football season

This was Joel's first College football season, here are Daddy and baby ready to watch last College football game, Oregon vs Auburn, which took place in Glendale , AZ, we used to live very close to the stadium where the game was hold. Joel didn't last the whole game; but just enough for the picture, but I'm sure this is the beginning of watching many football games together.

visiting LA

We had a very quick visit to LA, and it was our first time going there.

Joel enjoy looking at the fish for first time and he liked them.

We just hit some of the highlights - the Getty Museum, Santa Monica pier, and the temple.  And of course the traffic.  It was great to see some friends there and have a little adventure after our stay-cation in Arizona!

Rosca de Reyes

If everybody thinks that Christmas and New Year celebrations are over, in Mexico there is one more left on January 6th. Rosca de Reyes (Three Wise Men ring pastry)  which is a bundt shaped decorated sweet bread wreath, it's a Mexican tradition that remind us the arrival of the Three Wise Men to visit baby Jesus, inside the Rosca there are a few dolls.  Whoever gets the piece that has a doll has to make something (usually tamales) on February 2nd for the rest of the ones who participate in the Rosca de Reyes that day.

 We look kind of tired because we got home from LA that day early morning , and definitely was a long day for everybody, even for Joel who got a cold due to the trip.
